Purpose of Life Man’s existence on this earth is as perishable as a bubble on water. If this truth gets rooted in us, our life will indeed become productive and useful. Meditation on this truth will ultimately emancipate man. One should not lead an aimless life. One should try to enrich one’s life.
The richness of life does not lie in becoming materially rich and having all the comforts of life at your doorstep. All such riches, in fact, are chains which, unknowingly, you have got yourself bound with. The spiritual wisdom lies in developing thyaga buddhi (mind given to renunciation). Instead of accumulating possessions and getting attached to them, we should try to use them as prasad (gift) of God. We are bound to loose worldly possessions one day or the other, sooner or later. Therefore, try to develop sama drushti (equal vision) towards them i.e. if riches come to you, do not get overjoyed, and if you do not get them, do not grumble.
